1. Overview
Rivena uses a small number of cookies and browser storage entries to keep the site secure and functional. This page describes each category currently in use and will be updated whenever the underlying technology changes.
Google Analytics is currently disabled on rivena.app pending implementation of optional analytics consent controls. Rivena does not currently offer an in-product cookie preference control or a consent banner. These self-service controls are not currently available.
2. Strictly necessary
These are required for the Services to work. They cannot be turned off without breaking sign-in or losing tournament context.
- Authentication session (browser
localStorage). The Supabase authentication client stores your session token so you stay signed in between visits. Clearing site data or signing out removes it. - Tournament referral cookie (short-lived, signed, HttpOnly). Set when you visit an official tournament page with a
?ref=parameter, so your organizer attribution survives sign-in and email verification and returns you to the correct tournament page.
3. Analytics
Google Analytics is currently disabled. No gtag.js script is loaded on rivena.app, no page_view events are sent, and no Google Analytics identifiers are created or read. No replacement analytics provider has been added.
If Rivena re-enables Google Analytics or introduces another optional analytics provider in the future, it will be described here accurately. GA4 normally uses first-party identifiers associated with the Rivena site domain; data is transmitted to Google Analytics servers, and analytics requests may still transmit information even when analytics cookie storage is unavailable. Exact behavior will depend on the consent configuration implemented at that time, and, where legally required, consent will be obtained before activation.
4. Managing cookies
Most browsers let you view, block, and delete cookies for specific sites through their settings menu. Blocking essential cookies or clearing browser storage will sign you out of Rivena and may prevent certain features from functioning. Questions about cookie use can be sent to rivena.app@gmail.com.
